Shankar is dedicated to sustainable manufacturing and business practices and leads the company’s sustainability initiatives including the adoption of green technologies and processes. As an advocate of sustainability, Shankar supports nature and sustainable ecosystems.
Shankar was born in Kolkata on 27th May, 1967. His hometown is at Siwan, Bihar. He started his professional life in the year 1987 by joining Calcutta Tram Company Limited. In the later years he had left his job and engaged himself in developing independent companies. He has become a successful entrepreneur by establishing several developing companies like M. Raj & Company, Akala Construction, Anamika Enterprise etc., all in the electrical goods and services sector.
He joined Beacon at a time when Beacon was facing many difficult challenges. But Shankar always prefers to deal with complex problems. He began to solve all the difficulties one by one. Gradually the hope and confidence among employees at all levels began to grow that this company would go a long way.
Among the latest ideas to move Beacon forward are the launch of new products, registration of all the popular brands of the company, growth of the company abroad and most importantly to create its own mark in modern education in the health-care sector. His vision for health-care education is a unique initiative for a pharmaceutical company. Beacon under the able leadership of Shankar is in the process of finalizing its ‘Vision 2025’ project.
